Video Experiment

This is a video from about a month ago. I'm just trying to figure out how to post videos. I guess this works but the quality doesn't seem great. No problem-the most important thing in this video is the sound anyway. We'll keep trying.

Jack LOVES his Dad. Oh my gosh. He's always doing tricks and trying to get Jeff to notice or chase him or say hi or "Boo!" or anything! I know he loves me too, but from the first hour of Jack's life he has been drawn to Jeff and is overall a much happier baby when Jeff is home or near Jack. It's awesome. On this day, in August, Jeff was jumping on our front steps and Jack could hardly contain himself. Clara is also involved in the fun. Enjoy!

Welcome Beckham Gage!

Our newest Nephew and Cousin, Beckham Gage, was born yesterday morning! He was six pounds, twelve ounces and is a perfect little bundle. In classic second born style he slept soundly as the hospital room filled with (loud) visitors. The noise and chaos of the expanding Myre family didn't seem to phase him at all. He also endured poking and proding and wet kisses from cousin Clara and Brother Ethan. What a good sport! We love him so much already. Here he is with his mama, Laura and big brother, Ethan.

The dads with their second borns. Jack liked meeting his new younger cousin. I think Jack hopes Beckham is ready to wrestle soon. After seeing tiny Beckham, Jack seems HUGE to me now.
Clara and Ethan ooing and ahhing over Beck. Ethan sang him a special song and Clara "beeped" Beckham's nose. I love how small children give deep value to babies. It's like they see the image of God in them clearly. The facination and gentleness of these two year olds as they immediately loved a newborn was beautiful.
Can you believe his darling red hair?! He's so cute. Welcome to the world Beckham. Your life is a miracle. You are very loved.

Siblings

Clara and Jack's carseats are next to each other and Clara holds Jack's hand in the car. It gets me every time.

Labor Day Weekend (I know, I'm late. . .)

We spent Labor Day weekend at Hood Canal again. "Survivor Hood Canal" made a comeback for a few team games including tug-of-war, bocce ball, archery, and team relay-obstacle course. That should be a whole separate blog entry. . .Anyway, here are some of the other events of the weekend. We love Hood Canal. It felt sad to usher out Summer. We stayed till Tuesday-it was hard to say goodbye.

Relaxing on the beach at low tide.

The reality of potty training (a girl) while camping.

(I imagine when it's Jack's turn, he will just pee in the bushes.)

Clara and Bubba made chocolate sauce and ice cream for everyone.

Jeff and Thadd had a "Swing-Boarding" exibition.

Searching for crabs on the beach with Clara.

Jack and Silas chillin' in the pack n play.

My dad brings all the motors and boats so there are enough for everyone!

Clara and Mama on a boat ride.

Heather and Auntie Jill ready to race in the hydros.

Jack is working on two top teeth. Here is a glimpse of the first one.
